As I type the words of this post, my headphones plays my "lastest song"... My attention goes from these words back to notes and sounds.
For the first time I've made a song knowing how I would call it beforehand: "Shell Sea", a homage to my "first fan". And as the words flow from my fingers, so the last touches to the song do: A note tweak here, some mixing there.
This is a special song, because it marks the end of something, like Omega is to Alpha. And this is why i'm making this blog post.
My Alpha happened when me and Timraband did 120 BPM, it was the very first time we've made a full song. Usually, I would make hundreds of drum beats, melodies, but never finished anything, but when I got together with Timrand and the ideas started flowing: we finally nailed it down, our first song was made and I was able to do something as I intended, not just bits and scraps of luck, but a finished product, with a "wholeness" feeling to it.
But now, as months passed by and I feel stuck, I wanted to do a break-through again, to release a song that would symbolize the "end of an era" (quality wise), as in the "best song I could do now". Not the last song I'll do, I pretend to improve more and more each day, but the last song I'll release 'till I feel like I've "got one step further".
So, this moment for me echoes like "Omega", the last step I can do with this limited pallete. So, its time to "give a step foward", stop playing with what I already know, and move on to learn new things.
This is not the last Time you'll guys hear from me, that is a promise.
I wish to thank Timraband for the partnership and great songs/tips/bass-lines over this year of songwriting, and wish him best of luck on his songs and future projects.
I want to thank all the people who listened, voted, wrote reviews and used our songs in Games.
Thank you all and Keep on Rocking in The Free World! ;)
